Miscarriage Blankets

A friend from my church found this website I thought it was pretty neat for miscarried, stillborn and premature babies. I would not have thought about all these little fancy things for the baby's burial and things to remember them by. The lady's story about her miscarriage is beautiful but will bring tears to anyone's eyes.

The Ten Commandments - Laws of the ONE TRUE God

Virtues

>Supernatural Virtue: Supernatural virtue enables us to perform good acts from supernatural motive, for the glory of God.
>Natural Virtue: Natural virtue enables us to perform good natural acts; it deals directly with things human.
>The Three Theological Virtues - Faith, Hope, Charity: These virtues are called theological, from the Greek term theos (meaning God), because their object is God.
Faith: Faith is the virtue by which we firmly believe all the truths God has revealed, on the word of God revealing them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
Hope: Hope is the virtue by which we firmly trust that God, Who is all-powerful and faithful to His promises, will in His mercy give us eternal happiness and the means to obtain it.
Charity: Chairty is the virtue by which we love God above all things for His own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves, for the love of God.
>The Four Cardinal/Moral Virtues - Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance: These virtues are called moral virtues because they dispose us to lead moral, or good lives, by aiding us to treat persons and things in the right way, that is, according to the will of God. Moral virtues are opposed to the capital sins.
Prudence disposes us in all circumstances to form right judgements about what we must do or not do.- It teaches us when and how to act in matters relating to our eternal salvation. Prudence perfects the intelligence, which is the power of forming judgements; for this virtue, knowledge and experience are important.
Justice disposes us to give everyone what belongs to him.-It teaches us to give what is due to God and to man. It makes us willing to live according to the commandments. Justice perfects the will and safeguards the rights of man: his right to life, freedom, honor, good name, sanctity of the home, and external possessions.
Fortitude .. disposes us to do what is good in spite of any difficulty.-It gives us strength to do good and avoid evil in spite of all obstacles and afflictions.
Temperance disposes us to control our desires and to use rightly the things which please our senses.-It regulates our judgement and passions, so that we may make use of temporal things only in so far as they are necessary for our eternal salvation. We have temperance when we eat and drink only what is necessary to sustain life, preserve health, and fulfill our duties.

The Beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they who hunger and thrist for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart, for they see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The Seven Sacraments - All definitions are taken from the book, "My Catholic Faith".

Baptism: Baptism is the sacrament that gives our souls the new life of sanctifying grace by which we become Christians, children of God, and heirs of heaven.
Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion): The Holy Eucharist is a sacrament and a sacrifice in which Our Saviour Jesus Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity, is contained, offered, and received under the appearances of bread and wine.(Holy Communion is the receiving of Jesus Christ in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist)
Confirmation: Confirmation is the sacrament through which the Holy Ghost comes to us in a special way and enables us to profess our faith as strong and perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ.
Penance (Confession): Penance is the sacrament by which sins committed after Baptism are forgiven through the absolution of the priest. (Confession is the telling of our sins to an authorized priest for the purpose of obtaining forgiveness)
Matrimony: Matrimony is the sacrament by which a baptized man and a baptized woman bind themselves for life in a lawful marriage, and receive the grace to discharge their duties.
Holy Orders: Holy Orders is the sacrament through which men receive the power and grace to perform the sacred duties of bishops, priests, and other ministers of the Church.
Extreme Unction: Extreme Unction is the sacrament which, through the anointing with blessed oil by the priest, and through his prayer, gives health and strength to the soul, and sometimes to the body, when we are in danger of death from sickness, accident, or old age.
-What is a sacrament?

The Seven Gifts of the Holy Ghost (definitions taken from "My Catholic Faith")

>The seven gifts of the Holy Ghost are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
Wisdom - is that gift by which we recognize the emptiness of earthly things. By it we come to regard God and spiritual things as of the highest good. Without the gift of wisdom we are indifferent to spiritual matters, avoiding all mortification.
Understanding - is that gift by which we are enabled to recognize the true Catholic teaching, and to detect false doctrines. Before the descent of the Holy Ghost on the Apostles, they did not understand the divine mysteries of Christ revealed to them, often interpreting His words materially.
Counsel - helps us to discover the will of God under difficult circumstances.
Fortitude - is the gift by which we are strengthened under trials, to do God's will.
Knowledge - enables us to grasp the teaching of the Church, to know God and Jesus Christ When He sent.
Piety - is that gift by which we love God as our Father, ever striving to do His will.
Fear of the Lord - makes us dread sin as the greatest of all evils, and enables us to quell fear of man and human respect.

The Twelve Fruits of the Holy Ghost

>These twelve fruits of the Holy Ghost are good habits performed under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. They make us happy and contented, and help us to be pleasing to both God and man.
Chastity: As a virtue it is that virtue, a) excludes all indulgence of and all voluntary pleasure arising from the sexual appetite in case of single persons; b) controls the use of such appetite according to dictates of right reason in this case of married persons.
Fidelity: Faithfulness to obligations, duties, or observances. Loyalty.
Goodness: 1. The state or quality of being good. 2. Moral excellence; virtue. 3. Kindly feeling; kindness; generosity.
Forbearance: Forbearing conduct or quality; patient endurance; self-control.
Continency: The virtue which restrains the will from consenting to strong movements of sexual desire.
Modesty: The virtue which enables a man to observe moderation in all things; in estimating his own worth in seeking after knowledge in deportment and in dress.
Mildness: Gentleness, but not involving softness or "slop".
Benignity: Called in common speech, kindness. It need not be confined to the age.
Patience: Strengthens the soul to bear the trials of this life with resignation to God's will, instead of giving way to sadness.
Peace: Enumerated by St. Paul in Gal. which keeps the mind untroubled in the face of spiritual or temporal trials.
Joy: Helps one to serve God cheerfully.
Charity: The infused virtue which enables us to love God above all things for His own sake, and to love for God's sake all those whom He has raised to His friendship or to whom He offers it.

Sins

Sins Against God the Holy Ghost: Presumption of God's Mercy, Despair, Impugning the known Truth, Envy at another's spiritual good, Obstinacy in Sin, Final Impenitence.
Nine Ways of Being An Accessory to Another's Sin: 1. By Counsel 2. By Command 3. By Concealment 4. By Consent 5. By Defence of the Evil Done 6. By Partaking 7. By Provocation 8. By Praise or Flattery 9. By Silence
Effects of Mortal Sin: Deprived of sanctifying grace, Makes the soul an enemy of God, Takes away the merit of good actions, Deprives the soul of Heaven, Makes the soul deserving of hell.
Sins Crying to Heaven for Vengeance: Wilful Murder, Sodomy, Oppression of the poor, Defrauding laborers of their wages.
